New Season Arriving!

The new Fall 2017 season has started arriving and Raffinée is ready to showcase all the stunning collections.  I know, we say this every year.  How can we think of cold weather clothes when it's hot and sticky outside? In the fashion world the Fall/Winter season begins in July through to December.

Making it more confusing, is the fact that designers introduced their new Fall/Winter collections way back in February.  But that is the way the fashion seasons work and has a lot to do with orders, manufacturing, marketing and delivering.  However things are rapidly changing in this fast paced world we live in. Resulting in forcing designers and design houses to speed up their creative process for "in season" merchandise added to the demands of pre-spring, spring/summer, pre-fall, fall/winter, and resort.

For now, we are definitely enjoying the collections arriving in Raffinée for the Fall/Winter 2017 season. (and who cares if it's only August!) 

It's a good time to start planning your wardrobe before the cooler temperatures arrive.  Going through what you have (neatly stored away) helps in making room for the new items or outfits you are choosing.  Remember there are always clothes that need to be replaced or retired from your closet.  Also, planning ahead for special events is always a good idea.

One last thing.  What you wear is such an expression of who you are.  If you are someone who likes to take risks and wear stand out clothes, pick clothes you love.  If you are someone who enjoys a more subtle and classic style, pick clothes you love.

LOOKING GOOD BUT FEELING MUCH BETTER

We all want to look good no matter our age, and the key is to take care of ourselves.  This means doing as much for our inside as we do for our outside.  Looking after our hair, skin and body helps  us embrace the inevitable aging process.  However, in this anti-aging culture of skin remedies, injections and laser techniques it could get very confusing out there (and expensive!)  There is nothing wrong in trying any of these techniques but why not try more simple and natural ways of looking and feeling good.  Remember, there is no magic wand.  We age everyday we live, but we are living.

Some beneficial tips for looking good but feeling much better:

Sleep - so important for our overall health. Strive for more than 5 or 6 hours of restful slumber.  It helps you function and it really helps your skin.

Cleanse, moisturize, apply sunscreen - make it a daily routine.  So beneficial.

Nutrition -  everything we eat affects our bodies inside and out. Try to eat healthy as much as you can, but try even harder to avoid processed food and too much salt.

Exercise - keep moving for any reason, to decrease stress, to manage your weight, to feel strong.

A positive outlook - feel young at heart by being confident in the way you look and especially in the way you feel. Also, letting go of negativity helps you lead a happier and healthier life.
